Protection for the PMEs - Weathering the Storm

TODAY's Newspaper highlighted how NTUC & CIEU helped our PMEs navigate the tricky tides of corporate restructuring and eventually, offering employment assistance.

For more information, CIEU members can seek workplace advice and assistance from CIEU’s team of Industrial Relations Practitioners. These employment-related concerns could be in respect of interpretation of employment legislations, salary arrears, contractual disputes, termination/ dismissal etc.

U-Tap Funding

What is UTAP?

UTAP (Union Training Assistance Programme) is a training benefit for NTUC members to defray their cost of training. This benefit is to encourage more union members to go for skills upgrading.

How much is the grant?

As a member, you enjoy 50% claims on unfunded course fee capped at $500 per year, subject to $1,000 over 3 years when you sign up for courses supported under UTAP. This excludes miscellaneous fees such as GST and registration fee etc.

Who can apply?

As long as you are an NTUC member, you can apply for UTAP. However, to be eligible for funding assistance under UTAP, you must meet the following criteria:

• Paid-up union membership throughout and after course duration
• Training course by training provider must be approved and supported under UTAP
• Training courses must not be funded through company sponsorship or other types of funding
• Unfunded course fee must be at least S$20.00 and above

NTUC members who attend UTAP approved courses will be eligible for training benefit of up to $500 per year to defray their cost of training. Terms and conditions apply.
